RADIO EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW ON GENOCIDE IN NAMIBIA FROM 1904-1908
It may have been any other day for anyone who may not be fully conscious that, the spirits of the ancestors have been awakened. June 19 2021, was one such day, where the Nama and Ovaherero long lost but not forgotten Spirits of Shark Island also known as the ‘Death Island” invited us into their world to hear what happened to them during 1904 -1908. As vessels we carried the messages and their voices to the world.
The Captain Teri P. show was privilege and humbled to be selected among many online radios to host this magnificent show of a lifetime. We virtually time travelled to Windhoek, Namibia. Our headphones whisked us all the way to another continent thanks to our virtual channels that gave us access to enter the vortex, not a smooth ride I tell yah. We encountered space and time issues due to internet connectivity and sound engineering challenges. However the message was relayed.
The very topical issue of The Nama and the Ovaherero Genocide, as the first Genocide of the 20th century committed by the German colonial troops and administration between 1904 -1908 in the then so called South West Africa (Now Namibia since Independence, March 21st 1990) against those two communities was the topic at hand.
The Show for the first time had a co-host, Mr. Protasius Ndauendapo affectionally known as ‘Procks’ among friends, a seasoned journalist, entrepreneur with many business hats and a veteran of the Namibia’s Liberation Struggle. Procks handled all our international correspondence with grace and patience. Thank you Procks.
Our distinguished and honourable guests on Life Online Radio Station was none other than two of the most Powerful, Dynamic, Eloquent individuals I have ever come across.
My beautiful reader please allow me to introduce you to our distinguished speakers on that day of June 19, 2021, Hon. Esther Utjiua Muinjangue, Deputy Minister Of Health and Social services, President of National Unity Democratic Organization (NUDO) and former Chairperson of the Ovaherero Genocide Technical Committee. Coming from a legacy of freedom fighters, their DNA is indeed embedded in her. Hon. Esther Utjiua Muinjangue became the party’s first elected female president and the first elected female leader of a Namibian political party (NUDO). We welcomed here with love.
Also gracing our airwaves was none other than Cde. Ida Hoffmann, Former member of Parliament and a veteran of the Namibia Liberation Struggle. She too was warmly welcomed on our station. We kicked it off with Madame Hoffman right-way asking her to briefly tell our listeners how she got involved in the Nama and Ovaherero Genocide Issues?
